Maintenance Technician Trainee

General Description:

As a Maintenance Technician Trainee, you will be responsible for learning and supporting the manufacturing process by trouble shooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery and equipment.  You will also be responsible for related safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

         Participate and successfully complete our Maintenance Technician Trainee program which will provide knowledge and experience in the following areas:

o   Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of equipment to ensure optimum operating conditions and uptime across all related crafts

o   Knowledge of machine shop equipment, electronic industrial systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives, servo drives, power distribution, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, human machine interfaces, hydraulics and pneumatics

    • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machines and drive power distribution systems, instrumentation, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
    • Perform PLC maintenance issues
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and other mechanical issues
    • Interpret blueprints, sketches, maintenance manuals and manufacturing specifications
    • Cut, form, thread, fit and install piping for air, water, steam, oil nitrogen, gas, and other lines
    • Prepare and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with multiple technologies
    • Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
  • Other general responsibilities:

o   Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), NFPA 70E (Arc flash)

o   Adhere to Goodyear s attendance policy

o   Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable

 

Basic Qualifications: 

         HS Diploma/GED

         Must be at least 18 years of age

         Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future

         Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment criteria

         Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable

         Basic computer skills

         Must provide basic tools

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

         Previous Industrial Manufacturing experience basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery and power/control devices.

         Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
